Insights from Canadian Diversity: International Students from India

Students from India make up the largest share of international study permit holders in Canada. What challenges are these students facing, what contributions have they made to the Canadian communities in which they settle, and how can they be supported? These were among the questions pondered by multiple contributors in the latest edition of Canadian Diversity, our quarterly publication covering migration and demographics.

New Report: Campus Antisemitism and Student Experiences (CASE)

Earlier this month, the ACS presented the results of its national study of campus antisemitism to press gathered on Parliament Hill. Commissioned by the Department of Canadian Heritage, the study set out to investigate the lived experiences of Jewish post-secondary students from across Canadian universities, who were surveyed between November 17 and December 19, 2025. The results of the report—the most comprehensive study into antisemitism on university campuses to be conducted in any major Jewish diaspora in the world—were nothing short of “troubling and urgent.”

Canada by the Numbers: AI and Chat Use - Lessons Learned

At our most recent monthly webinar, the Association for Canadian Studies welcomed Wendy Cukier of the Diversity Institute and the Future Skills Centre to explore the findings of a new joint survey on Canadians’ use of and attitudes towards AI. The survey examined how Canadians perceive the benefits and risks of AI tools, their expectations around disclosing AI-use at work and in school, the role of AI in language learning and translation, and the use of AI by immigrant and allophone populations. The event concluded with analysis from Ines Ghozzi of the impacts of AI for immigrant integration and participation, and for trust, critical thinking, and democracy more broadly.
