Canada by the Numbers: AI and Chat Use - Lessons Learned

At our most recent monthly webinar, the Association for Canadian Studies welcomed Wendy Cukier of the Diversity Institute and the Future Skills Centre to explore the findings of a new joint survey on Canadians’ use of and attitudes towards AI. The survey examined how Canadians perceive the benefits and risks of AI tools, their expectations around disclosing AI-use at work and in school, the role of AI in language learning and translation, and the use of AI by immigrant and allophone populations. The event concluded with analysis from Ines Ghozzi of the impacts of AI for immigrant integration and participation, and for trust, critical thinking, and democracy more broadly.
